A Simple Saturday

Simply put...Jocelyn gets time to veg with Dora...
Cate and Landon took to their bikes...
Brooklyn snoozes...

I love a lazy Saturday morning.

Though it didn't last long.

This was the first time I braved Walmart with all four kids. We only had to get three things too.
Ribbon for Brooklyn's blessing dress, thank you cards, and envelopes.

We made it without much drama, no extra purchases, and no tears.

It's been a pretty great day.
Until we discovered a broken water pipe to our hose bib.
Catelyn's room is now undergoing some plumbing damage repair and we will have to call a plumber in on Monday.

But, still, a pretty great day.

Happy Birthday Catelyn!!!

Happy Birthday Catelyn!!! Yesterday was you last day as a 6 year old. Here we go for 7!!! I have picked out a few photos that I love of you, Catelyn, and hope that you know how special you are as you look at this post. You truly are a Daughter of God and are so beautiful. The Opposite of Christmas Morning

We are having the opposite of Christmas morning at our house. No toys. We have one of these for storing toys: And several of these for the same reason: And last night the kids thought dumping them out for the sake of dumping toys would be fun. This is a major rule breaker in our home. I have had problems with this in the past, (even Mykalee knows this) and i have told them if it happens again, all the toys will disappear. And last night, after I found out what they had done, the toys have been grounded. FOR A WEEK. I hope it's as devastating as possible, so that they will learn I am serious when it comes to dumping toys out. {Also, Brooklyn is the only one who is exempt from this, as she was in bed. Innocent.} On a side note, we did get the kids this on Friday. It was time. They seem to love it.

Catelyn--The Birthday Girl!

She knew. I told her that she was getting a dress for her 8th birthday. We tried some on, and fell in LOVE with the one we ended up surprising her with! Doesn't she look too grown up? I teared up as I watched 12 more years flash before my eyes as I saw her in this mini-wedding dress. But it was the one for her. We knew it. With Grandpa Dean's passing, we received special permission {which Kyle didn't like to have to ask for, because in the church handbook, it specifically says "Members should not ask for special permission to baptize their children. . .blah, blah blah....*Oh!! not that I am making fun of the handbook. I just don't what it says exactly* I argued back that this was a rare exception, and we should at least ask. {Also, not as rare as I thought-- as I found out Friday night -March 18- that the family who had a viewing going at the same time as ours, at Coltrin's, had a baptism and a funeral in the same day as well! ...
