Speaking Larsen

Enjoying the heat of the concrete. It's funny that they lined up like that on their own. Landon refusing to remove his T shirt.  He swore it kept him warmer! She's so content when it comes to water. The older boys- Landon, Jaden, Jaxon, and Josh! The Older girls! Lilly, Ali, Catelyn and Jocelyn! Not sure what they're talking about, but you can see they had to clear the kiddie pool for a bit. Brooklyn enjoys her snacks, okay? This is what she does 90% of the time we swim.  She takes to the water like a hippo. Now I have two hippos.  All the way in, except for the head.

Right this very moment, at 10:08 am, she is still asleep.  Go figure.  Now that I get up at 7 am to get the kids off to school, she decides it's time to catch up on sleep?  I could kill her, if she weren't so dang cute.  One week ago, she decided after having a bike at her fingertips since July 24th, that NOW she was ready to ride it.  It's freaky how fast she takes off and can disappear on you, too.  She's pretty brave to just go wherever her heart leads her. I think she thinks she owns the neighborhood.  On Sunday morning, after blow drying my hair, I asked the kids where she was.  No one knew. 15 minutes later, she came through the door, and while I did let her have it,  she casually told me she'd ridden her bike over to her friends' house, which by the way is 5+ doors away, around the corner, etc....  The devil. She's so stinkin' proud of herself for being able to ride it too.  See that face?   ...

Catelyn has Mrs. Knibbs this year for fourth grade, and she's so excited about it!  I am excited for her to learn about Idaho History and such.  I loved fourth grade, and she's pretty eager to learn!  Her new favorite color is LIME and she wants everything in the color! She's got several friends in her class, and making new ones all the time!

Landon's in Mrs. Olsen's second grade class, and while most of his friends are not in the same class, he's excited about the school year and making new friends. I'm pretty sure he's going to love this year of school. When I asked him what his favorite thing about school was so far, it surprised me to hear him say READING!  Awesome! 

Her little friend Stacy!   Since when does she think she has red hair? So exciting to send Jocelyn off to Kindergarten.  She's be hying to go, so off she went and no one even cried.  I probably will when Brooklyn leaves the nest however, when I become a part-time-empty-nester.   It's not that we love Jocelyn less, she just was so EAGER to leave us and I was happy for her to feel that brave and strong, because 3 months ago, SHE WAS FALLING APART at the idea of me forgetting her. So needless to say, we're so proud of our little JoJoBear.  She has Mrs. Davenport- the same K teacher Catelyn and Landon had.  So it's "tradition" now.  Hopefully Mrs. Davenport doesn't quit before Brooklyn has the chance to be in her class too. Jocelyn's attending int he mornings, and has met a new friend, PAIGE.  She's her new BFF and I hear every day about how much she loves PAIGE.  Turned out when we figured out who Paige was, I was hap...

Nothing like buying supplies and stuff.  And I mean STUFF!  Putting clothing and shoes aside, here's a fairly collective list, albeit incomplete, of stuff the kids need, and Brooklyn's getting stuff too, as we are doing Joy School. 3 backpacks 3 boxes Kleenex 300 boxes of crayons 3 scissors 300 pocket folders 3 boxes of markers and colored pencils 300 glue sticks 30 bottles of glue 300 pencils Okay, just kidding, but kinda not. We're down to just six days left, and as exciting as it is to go back to school, I wish we had two more weeks of summer to play before the fall weather really sets in. Later today, the school should be posting the school class lists.  If you ask Catelyn how she feels about going back to school, she says, "Good, I'm so excited!"
