Rainy Loose Tooth Policeman Day-A New Holiday

Well I guess it's not really a holiday, but nearly. Catelyn's tooth, which had been loose since Sept. 1st finally "came out". Yes, I pulled it but it was hanging on by a thread and at the point I pulled it out it was side ways. She was totally a basket case too about it. Screaming for no one to touch it, crying, whining, starving since she was afraid to eat even soup! Janelle and Mom and I were on the side of pulling it out will hurt a little but be so much better than this craziness. Grandma Betty and Kyle were on the defense team, sing a song about it will come out when it's ready and just leave her alone. But she was driving me nuts about it! To much whining. I just would rather have her cry and be mad at me for 10 minutes than deal with it all day! (And for the record she was only upset with me for about 30 seconds, before she realized she did feel so much better!) We made several attempts to get it out throughout the day. It wasn't until late af...

911352

Yes, go ahead and try dialing that number and see for yourself what happens! Obviously we had an officer show up. Whomever of my dear children who dialed it, used the fax phone. So when the dispatch tried to call back they only got the sound of a fax line. The cop came speeding into the driveway, which is gravel at my parents, and even left skid marks. Kyle's van was parked outside, so I am sure he is thinking something insane could be going on. Yes, insane crazy was going on. Grandma Betty, Kyle, and I were in a serious game of scrabble. Catelyn was beside herself because of her loose tooth, and Landon and Jojo were busy coloring while watching Dora. Kyle beat me at Scrabble by 7 whopping points, and he should have lost. I had to help him. I can't stand it when I see a better spot for someone's word. I have to point it out. So frequently, I loose. Yesterday was a crazy, crazy day!

Catelyn's Idea(s)

Yes, this is her idea. A way to "Keep the Boys Out". My owner's manual didn't tell me that this would start at the ripe age of 5. I am not sure what is my favorite part: the frown -- just so perfectly devastating and captures Landon's little face perfectly when she tells him to stay out OR the crown on the little boys' head. It's easier than drawing hair, I guess. She also said the funniest thing to me yesterday. We were walking home from school and she commented that sometimes Jocelyn is rude. I said, "Yes, but we are trying to teach her to not hit or be mean." Catelyn's wise reply? "Teaching kids is so hard. It's so tricky."

Family Faces

Here we go. A recap of the fair, based on some of the pictures I have. Landon and Amanda walking over to check out Grandpa and the cow they were trying to photograph. Blake decided he needed a photo of himself with Camelot. Cute couple, huh? Jake, showing one of our heifers. Looking good huh? I have no idea what Grandpa was telling Landon, but it was cute that they were having a little talk of their own. Just like a Pack, have to make a 'face' for the camera. Chad always does this too. The scoop has beet pulp in it. The cows love it. It didn't take Landon long before he decided he wanted to help to. {May I just add that this year Landon was fearless when it came to the cows. Fearless.} On show day, it was also the "3-a-Day-of-Dairy" day, and there was more free chocolate milk than one could handle. Well, except Jocelyn. She didn't necessarily drink all of these, but she grew very fond of the empty bottles. She was really funny about it. One of our ni...

Landon's got an Arm

Landon has a decent throw. And Kayson was throwing rocks too. But go ahead.... Ask Kayson, my nephew, how that rock Landon threw felt. This is a half hour after it happened. This is a that night. And here he is the next day. Looks to me like they are still buds though... Landon says "Sorry, Kayson." He really did feel bad about hurting his "tuz-in" (aka. cousin).

Landon

The other night, oh about 4 days ago I guess, Landon woke up in the middle of the night. He came into our room and asked me if I would put his Diego blanket on him. Sure, sure. So as I am tucking him in he half asleep asks me, "Mom, is your tummy feeling better now?" Sweetheart. "Yes, son I am fine." I am not sure if he was having a dream or what, but it was so tender to me to think he was concerned for me. Two seconds later his eyes were shut. I am not sure he was ever really awake, and he didn't remember it in the morning, so who knows. But, gosh, he is the best kid. Since Catelyn's been off to school he has been teasing Jocelyn more, but on the flip side, he has totally become my little buddy. He helps me and wants to do what ever I will let him do, even vacuum. We have played Play-Doh a lot. He spent every minute almost with me at the farm while I clipped cows. He goes to the grocery store willingly and delights in helping unload the groceries on...
