Little Lady...Bug

Catelyn is totally in LOVE with Ladybugs lately. She finds them wherever she goes. She colors pictures of them. She said thanks for them in her prayer last night. They are the greatest creation God has made in her life right now, I think. Which is fine. Didn't we all have an obsession over ladybugs when we were 5?

In Her Own Words

"Uh, I went to recess. I played a bean bag game. That's all I can remember. We didn't play with the kitchen. My table is yellow. Mrs. Davenport is my teacher. We get to play with toys, like kitchen. We went to recess. Tomorrow we get to write and play. Oh yeah! we went for a walk around the school. Because to look around. We saw the offices. Just offices. We didn't see the library." -Catelyn Paige, on her first day of Kindergarten

Day 1 of Kindergarten or the Lack Thereof

Here we are! First day of K!!! We had to do some posing for the camera. What else would you expect?? We drove over, since we were on a tighter schedule today, since Kyle was able to come. I think we will walk most of the time, but today, it wasn't really that nice out, and we didn't want to mess up the hair. No joke. After we went inside there was a mass chaos a bit as we all sorted our kindergartner's things and put them into a community box designated for specific things, such as crayons here....markers here.... She loved it. She called it organizing. Which it totally is. I just didn't know she knew the word or what it meant. I caught Landon doing this all on his own accord. He kept commenting on the way home how he already missed Catelyn. Not to worry.... I think I can distract him. Now, here is my girl....did you expect anything else???? {Note the finger.} At her table thus far is Kiara, Malarie, Jaxon, and Kayla {who she knows from church} and one little g...

Family Vacation, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday

Well here are a few photos from our fun day at Cherry Hill. I didn't take as many shots as I thought. I now realize this is because we spent so much time in the water, I just didn't have the camera on me. Isn't that the way it's suppose to be though? We had a great time at Janelle's, as the kids loved her "yard". We swam for a long time in the pool at her place as well, since it was as warm as a bath. While we did this, the guys went golfing. Tuesday was spent all day shopping for school clothes for Cate, and then we hit a Kung Fu Panda, which the kids really liked. It was a little bit violent for my likes for a kids' show, but hey, it was Kung Fu...so we knew what was going to be in the show. Wednesday we hit the Discovery Center in the Gateway Mall and saw a 3D movie. It was okay. The kids didn't like it. And it was spendy for a 45 minute flick. And there were NO dolphins or seahorses. So it didn't make my list of recommendations. ...

Family Vacation, Friday and Saturday

I have been meaning to write down a little bit about our family vacation. Friday and Saturday were spent at the Pocatello KOA.Don't laugh. It was ideal for what we did. Mykalee's blog said it perfectly. I am going to copy that...Here it is What is in brackets is my own additions: We went to the Pocatello KOA- don't laugh. It really was fun. {We went to the park and swang on the swings ...which was really funny as adults}...and then to Ross Park. We enjoyed dutch oven dinner {Kyle did the cooking and he did FANTASTIC!!!} and homemade root beer {Thanks to the Yeagers}. Oh and a wonderful lightening, rain, wind storm {blew into the area. IF got hail that night...haha!}. It stormed just enough to scare the kids into the tents and then calmed down for all the adults to enjoy sitting around the campfire talking. {The peach cobbler was really good, but the weather wasn't very enjoyable at the time that it was ready. I was so impressed by the tent that went onto the bac...

Push Me

I was really shocked when I went outside Monday to see what the kids were doing and found that Catelyn had placed Jocelyn in the regular swing and was gently pushing her. Landon was actually behind, gently pushing from the backside. It was so sweet. But, by the time I grabbed the camera, he was off doing something else. Catelyn however, remained faithful as Jocelyn's little mother and stayed by her until Jo insisted she was done. When I caught Jocelyn calling Cate "mommy"...it was sweet, and yet made me sad. I'M YOUR MOMMY, JOCELYN!!!!! Don't forget that!
