Dancers

Dancing is a thing that has my two girls busy these days.  I get choked up watching Catelyn, as she comes to life when she dances.  And my cheeks hurt from smiling so big when I watch Jo Jo dance.  She loves to dance.  They recently had a dance competition/recital and it was truly so fun to watch them perform. On Jo's song, they were having some technical difficulties, and I was able to snap a still shot.  (I took video of them so having time to do both wasn't an option, until the problem....) And then on the way home, I found this: I knew dance was exhausting, but for her, it really REALLY was! And not to be outdone:

The Larsen Family Reunion 2012

We played Bingo, and swam and ate, and swam and played games and rode in a cool snowmobile like bus, and ate and swam!  This year we stayed in the Presidential Suite, and can I just tell you, it's bigger than my house?  Seriously, it was.  It was so spacious and comfortable and luxurious.  It was pretty great. The kids had a grand time, and I think hands down their favorite parts include swimming and bingo, but when we towed them behind the Tahoe on their sleds, I haven't heard so much laughter out of all four them before.  That was pretty fun!  It did make me wish for more snow here for about 10 seconds. Catelyn enjoyed learning to float on her back with Grandma's undivided attention. Landon still loves to jump off the side and swim around like fish. Jocelyn has become a fish this year, fearless in her life jacket. And Brooklyn is learning to navigate in a life jacket, and very scared of it.  But Kyle worked with her and she slowing started w...

Sick Brooklyn

January 2012

We actually received some snow, and the girls were more than eager to go out in it.   Jocelyn was the funniest however, as she ran through the sprinkler of snow the snow blower made. And when they came inside, we dance the rest of the morning away, spinning in circles for a half hour. And we had a fabulous FHE with Compassion Fruit Pizzas.  The Furniss family joined us and the kids had a blast! Brooklyn's got a bit of hair.  Enough to mention, anyway. See, there. It's just a tiny pony, but still. Also you'll see my kids teaching a FHE lesson about the Tree of Life.  I'm glad that our FHE lessons are sinking in a bit.  What a thing to watch them teach each other, even if it's not quite doctrinally correct. It's okay if there are bad guys, a river of fun, and silly monkeys in the great and spacious building. And Landon started YMCA basketball.  His little team has a few girls and a handicapped kid, and I tell ya, it's a wo...

Landon's Birthday

As tradition would have it, doughnuts were delivered by Grandma mac. It's a pretty fun way to start the day! We gave Landon a very exciting new present....a new white shirt.  I know, we're cool parents. I wanna doughnut too! After school, my house turned into the crazy world of what it must be like to be a teacher with a class of all boys.  It was so funny, as they insisted on making peace signs and all wanting to build Lego things. Isaac Egbert, Cole Baker, Peirce Stevens, Hunter Bowler, Landon, Coulson Ward and Copper Sargant. Add the girls, and we have a seriously party. Reading his own cards these days.  Cute. NOT AFRAID of sparking candles.  They laughed and laughed. (Okay, truthfully, they were a bit scared, but warmed up to them 10x faster than the girls.)   It was the grandmas who delivered on Birth Day.  A new Lego ship and a new soccer ball.  The stuff birthdays are made of.  He had a great day, and we...
