Year End? Brooklyn!

Guess there isn't as much celebrating going on when you're 4 and not in school. But Brooklyn did have a fabulous time at the school carnival, and I painted this work of art on her face. She didn't want to wash it off. Ever.  I let her wear it for about 2 days before I made her bathe. BEST. MORNING. HAIR. IN. THE. FAMILY. Award goes to: One minute after waking up. Two minutes after waking up, and realizing we're photographing her.  Sometime around the end of February or May Brooklyn got us in the habit of rocking her to sleep.  For now, we let it go, because she's our last one, and I don't think she'll let us rock her to sleep for much longer. She never did as a tiny baby, so I'll take these few minutes and enjoy it.  Plus, she falls asleep in about 7 minutes, which also eliminates her getting out of bed 4,758 for _____________. Drinks, potty, clipping my nails, asking a question she's been lamenting about for years.... like, ...

Year End Party Time-Jocelyn

We have a Kindergarten Graduate!  After a year of morning K with Mrs. Davenport, Jocelyn can sing a million Sight Word songs and knows all her sounds and letters and can count by 5's and 10's and such! At the school carnival, I painted this lovely heart on her face and it was huge hit! We've been having a silly time around here.  Like when I say, run and go potty, and then hear, "MOM!" I dash in to see what's the problem, only to find this: We spent an evening all dolled up for Kindergarten graduation, which they had to hold at the Middle School's auditorium, due to the number of participants!  It was insane.  Each Kindergartner was only allowed to bring 4 people.  I broke the rule and brought Brooklyn (She was our #5) and made her sit on our laps.  But seriously, it was packed in there. And because of the numbers, both sets of Grandparents missed this event.  Boo. Paige, Addy and Jo-- Little Besties! ...

Year End Party Time- Catelyn

The year has come to an end for Catelyn as well!  I can't believe she's done with 4th Grade! And IDAHO HISTORY! For her Idaho History Project, she decided on a Headdress.  I went with a small version of what she was imagining, and it turned out perfect!  This is DeAnza Knibbs, Catelyn's 4th grade teacher/mother.  I can't believe how much fun Catelyn had with her as a teacher.  She pushed Catelyn just enough to grow steadily during the year.  For their year end party, I went with all three 4th grade classes to the Apple Athletic Club for a swimming party.  As room mom, I headed up the field trip and it was a huge hit with the kids.  The adults didn't swim, thankfully, so I was able to just watch them all interact!  I didn't catch a single photo as my camera battery had died!  Boo! But still so much fun to ride the bus with her and I loved watching her and her friends! Speaking of friends, these two have been since Kinderga...

Year End Party Time-Landon

The 2012-13 School Year is OVER!  Landon had a great year, with many successes!  He became a reading maniac and earned every AR prize they offered!  He had fun in Mrs. Olsen's class, and I'm glad I was the room mom for his class.  I got to experience what he was like around his friends.  So fun! At the Year End School Carnival, I was helping with face painting and this is what the kid chose!  Silly!  Mrs. Olsen was a wonderful teacher for Landon to have this past year.  He seemed to just love her and did whatever she asked of him.  He had straight A's and she just gushed about Landon and how wonderful he was all year.  Love her! Mrs. Olsen and Landon (last day of school!) I'm going to have to get Landon to tell me who these silly boys are.  They acted like best friends for sure when we were at the school for Catelyn's 4th Grade Program.  I'm glad that he is well liked and that he is kind to his friends.  ...

Let's Race!

PINE WOOD DERBY! This was Landon's first time building a car.  And boy, I gotta tell you, he did dang good for his first time! I am proud of him for painting it himself, and for insturcting Kyle on what he wanted done, when he couldn't do it.  Like weight it down, and how to cut it up. Kyle didn't make his car.  And it was clear that was the case. And I think that the boys learning how to create a car on their own is one of the most vital lessons one could take home from this kind of thing. This happened during the Stake Musical, and I had to stay because I had so many parts to play, but Landon and Kyle were able to go, and I am so grateful that both sets of grandparents were there to support him too! (Thanks to whoever took the photos!) His car wasn't the slowest, and it wasn't the fastest. And it was perfect! His car is in the 3rd lane!  Corbin and Kari Snedaker, his leaders!  They are so great!

May 15th!

My kids know MY rule is 75* or hotter to swim.  And this year, we hit it early.  May 15th Baby! Has it stuck around? Heck no. But still, a day to celebrate for sure!

I am Handsome, I am Smart!

BEING IN ''JOSEPH'' TIDBITS: I'd like to think I could take the time to jot down everything that happened from being in the Stake Musical, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, but that's just not going to happen. Too many memories have come and left my mind! So I'm going to jot down tidbits of things about being in it that happened, and are still happening. - When we quizzed the kids last night, they could name 10 out of 12 sons of Jacob.  Not bad at all.  And when we hinted at the first initial of the two they missed, they got them! -Caillee Youngberg, Bree Attebury and Cassidy King became some of my kids' favorite NEW people from the play. -Wray Kunz is now infamously "Joseph". -We've had many discussions on evil.... and bad choices.... because I was Mrs. Potiphar. -Grocery shopping today: Girls were singing Go Go down the aisles.  They got several smiles. -Catelyn and Landon made new friends. -Who knew that Br...

Strawberry Shortcake!

Not Pictured: Cherry Jam.  She was missing at the time. This little bed making project of mine came together with the help of Matt Egbert and Serene Heiner.   Brooklyn and Jocelyn love these little 6 inch Strawberry Shortcake dolls, and I admit, so do I. And now they each have a bed of their own! It took me nearly 3 months to complete them, but I finished them and am tickled with how they turned out!
