Landon's Wit!

On a side note of funny design, I told Landon we were looking at getting him a new car seat. “I don’t want a car seat!” “You need one. See, look at this one”…I show him this one... ”That isn’t a car s eat. That’s a booster.” How does he know that???!!! He is so witty sometimes! Also, last night when I checked on him, as indicated in my blog post yesterday, he said something super funny. "Landon, here....honey, take this medicine." He looks at me and does as he is told. He then says, "Mom, can I have a bowl in case I throw up?" "Does your tummy hurt?" "No." "Okay, well I will get you a bowl" After that I put a cold cloth on his forehead and sat with him for a second. His fever was 102..so I kept rotating the cloth a bit and then quietly said, "Go back to sleep." after he kept peeking at me. "I am asleep!" came his resounding reply. It was hilarious.

Happy Birthday Jocelyn Joye!!!

Our little munchkin is 2 today! Looking back... Birth Day....Jan 27th 2007, 10:07am. Jan. 27th, 2008... (One should always try on their birthday suit on the first birthday. And never for the camera again.) And most recently.... We love you Jocelyn!!! Here are some photos from her evening party! Did a pretty good job of trying to blow out her candles! Opened a few gifts! Thanks Grandmas! Was really delighted to see her "new" room! Dora and Boots are everywhere! She was so excited! Wouldn't hold still for much of a portrait photo, which is fine. She is two!

Speaking Catelyn or Landon or Jocelyn

"How does the baby get food, I just don't get it." --Catelyn (on how this baby of ours eats while in utero.) "Help me, Tinkerbell!!!" --Jocelyn "Mom, I need more cars." -- Landon (This because he has a new mat that is made for little race cars, and there is a parking lot on it, and he doesn't have enough cars for every parking space to be filled.)

Appies for Jo

I have been meaning to blog about Jocelyn's version of apples. She has called them appies for some time now, and she LOVES them. She is always wanting appies. Even my mom would be able to testify to her love for appies. In the fall, we had access to an apple tree and it produced the perfect sized, sweet and juicy apples for a 2 year old. She went through a whole bag I swear! My mom still has a bucket of them on her back porch and she knows right where they are. She totally helps herself to them too! It's hilarious! I can't complain. What a healthy snack! She gets one whenever she asks, everytime. Also, as of late, she has a new love for dresses (see above photo...) and she loves Dora and Boots and Diego. A LOT.

Comedy Central?

Get this! Here is something Cate left on a message to Kyle. And then following that, something Landon said. "Um, Hi Daddy. I'm just calling to see if you called. To see when you'll be home....to see if I can play with Sabrina.....My mom won't let me....So, Bye! This is Catelyn...589-2913. See ya!" {Word for word. That is exactly what she said.} Landon is potty trained, but he still needs help with wiping if he has gone #2, right... This is what I hear... "MOM!....Mom!...... MOMMY KENT LARSEN!!! Come wipe my bum!!!" Then, today, Kyle says, "Well, tomorrow Obama's president...." And we hear Catelyn sing out, "Barack Ooooobama!" Today is also Martin Luther King Day. And also today is Kent Jared Larsen's birthday. KJ would have been 21 today.

Just Playin' in the Snow

Kyle took the kids out to play in the snow a bit, and they had a blast! Landon did fall and it did result in a nose bleed, but he insisted that he continue playing. They went sledding down a barely there hill in our yard, played on the swing set, and built a 1 foot snowman. We are sad that there isn't more snow. It's all melting off, and I figure if it has to be cold, bring on the snow. I want a bunch on the grassy areas and none on the roads.

Speaking Jocelyn

Since she is just shy of turning two, it's a hilarious time of vocabulary, one that I have loved at every one of my kid's ages. She has some funny words that you only understand if you know her well. Recently she has picked up: Don't Hurt Dorasboots (which is just Dora and Boots--but it comes out as dorasboots--one word.) Diego No, I'n aut and Yes I'n am (she loves to argue!) But by far the best one is Jesus, which really PRINCESS. She has fallen in love with dresses and constantly wants jesus. Then when I get her a dress she usually replies with, 'Mom, I'n jesus." If you didn't know that jesus was really princess, it would be a pretty funny comment. And if you do know what she means, its even funnier.

Toot Me is Gone

I don't know if I ever blogged about Landon's versions of "excuse me" and if so, oh well. But he used to say Toot Me! as in he tooted/farted. But he would say toot me for all kinds of things. Well yesterday, I heard Excuse me, and realized that his funny little version of such a saying was gone. Bummer, because it was so funny!

Anger Management at 5?

Okay well, Cate is about to turn six, but I think she has anger management problems. I am worried that if this continues I am going to have a very rough road with her. She definiately has a Pack fuse, short. I guess I need to spend some time looking into tips on how to help her when she is upset, but for now, all advice is welcomed! I feel at that nearly 6 years of age she should be able to rationalize at least enough to not instantly scream, hit, or yell in such a way that is frightening to her siblings and alarming to us. Really if look could kill sometimes I think she would be an orphan. She can be so gentle and sweet, kind and sharing, and even helpful! But when she is mad, watch out! Yesterday, she constantly was fighting Jocelyn for the Little People King and Queen, that are Jo's new favorite, and technically were Jo's Christmas gift. Jo did have them first, and I just can get over how mad and angry she was at Jo and me about Jo not giving them to her right then. Arg...

Little Song Birds

Cate was sick for her concert after all! What a bummer! The poor girl tried so hard, and we were proud of her efforts! Just before their concert was to begin she started to look pale and I could tell her fever had returned. Sure enough, she was cooking. Miraculously, Becky G., an old friend of mine, and my family's had children's Tylenol on her! It didn't take effect until after their portion of singing, but by the end of the night, she was feeling much better. She looked like she might cry at any given moment while on stage. I should back up here. Three days ago, Cate came down with a fever. This fever has circulated though Jocelyn and Landon, but not quite so fiercely or lengthy. Landon received a blessing when it hit him, because I get nervous when he gets sick. He is just so small framed that I hate it when he isn't well. So Cate asked her dad for a blessing too. Part stubborn, part faith, she refused help from medicine and cool cloths. Anyway, her fever...
