Party Time! Well Sorta.

Birthday Morning. Grandma bought her a replacement soother-- hoping she would snuggle it when she needed comfort. Birthday Night. She didn't even want her normal Hello Kitty blanket. It was bad. We knew that it was going to be hard. But it was time. I have worried that taking her paci away would cause her to suck her thumb. So far, so good.  But it's been a week and she is having a hard time. She cries a lot.  She has a hard time going to bed. She won't take a nap now. She wakes up crying a lot during the night. She wakes up to early, and won't go back to bed.   It's evidence to me, how often she rouses and used her paci to put herself back to sleep. She has a hard time going back to sleep without it. This will pass though. What a way to spend your birthday, I know.  Sorry, honey. Now on to the PARTY!!! I couldn't get over how you would always drop your jaw in awe.  You did it everytime you opened a gift! And when you got that Sleeping Beauty Polly ...

Jocelyn's 3rd Birthday!

Our little munchkin is 3 today! Looking back... Birth Day....Jan 27th 2007, 10:07am. Jan. 27th, 2008... (One should always try on their birthday suit on the first birthday. And never for the camera again.)  Here we are coming up on 2 years: We love you Jocelyn!!! Here are some photos from her evening party! Did a pretty good job of trying to blow out her candles! Opened a few gifts! Thanks Grandmas! Was really delighted to see her "new" room! Dora and Boots are everywhere! She was so excited! January 27, 2008: Wouldn't hold still for much of a portrait photo, which is fine. She is two! ♥♥♥ Now that she is 3, she still wouldn't hold still for long for a photo shoot.  She did a bit better than last year, but seriously, she won't look at the camera.   Jocelyn is totally into Barbies, Disney Princess, and (still) Skirts.  She hates pants!  So here she is, in her newest one that I made her for today! January 27...

One of My Favorite Milestones!

Kyle's Little Diva

Yes, I mean BOTH Kyle her Father, and Kyle her Boyfriend. Elder Calder stopped by {LUCKY US!!!} for a visit. We still love this guy! {And he always brings such fun friends. We end up talking for hours!} That sweet Diva face with her purple sunglasses is what I see in my rear view mirror every time I drive the car somewhere. Gotta love it. We get in the car, and the first thing she asks for is those sunglasses. She is hilarious.

The Dentist Again!

**I might poke a little fun here at the Dental Assistants, but please note that even though I do, THEY WERE GREAT. Just hard to know what you should and shouldn't say to what kid. I think Landon would have done better if that hadn't said much at all to him, and just tried to calm him down, rather than tell him why they were doing what they were doing.** A little nervous. No kidding, since last time was really hard for him. But, the gas kicks in as we watch Aladdin! It's short lived, as you can see by his eyes, and the red flush of fear in his cheeks. Poor boy. Sleep water, yeah right, Dental Assistant. That pinching feeling is something I can still feel when I think about it. It sucks! The comes Doc. Even though Landon didn't do so hot, we made it through. Two cavities filled. So, the that night, Landon had nightmares about "sneaky sugar bugs in his room, crawling the walls." Poor kid was totally scared. Again, thanks dental assistants for telling Landon ...

She's 9 Months!

This is the age I like the best out of all the toddler days. 9-11 months. They are so much fun. Busy, but fun. It's gone by so fast. Brooklyn has been doing some funny things with her tongue lately, but it makes us all laugh so it's fine. Her little two teeth are so sweet. See what I mean: And she LOVES yogurt! We are so lucky to have her in our lives!

Catelyn's Testimony

To make a long story short, I have been encouraging Catelyn to share her testimony in sacrament meeting for months. To no avail. She watches her little primary classmates do it, some with mom holding their hands and whispering in their ears and others all on their own. She seems to enjoy it and says she knows she can do just that she doesn't want to. Until yesterday. I am so proud of my nearly 7 year old daughter. She was nervous as ever to walk up there, and wanted me to join her. I told her that Kyle would be there, if she needed help. But she wanted me to help her make the walk up. So I did. And she stood at the pulpit all uprgith and ready and then turned to me and whispered,"I forgot how to start." After a simple whisper of "I'd like to bare my testimony. . ." she took over and shared her sweet little testimony all by herself. Honestly, I wish I could remember what she said. I will have to ask Kyle. I was just so shocked and proud of her that...
