thanks givin'

Thanksgiving was spent at the Larsen's with the Packs and I am once again grateful that our parents like each other enough to have dinner with each other, so that we can spend the day with both sets of parents!  This year was made extra special when Catelyn spent the day before thanksgiving painstakingly making cards for everyone who would be sitting at the dinner table.  It was pretty darn cute and sweet of her! There are so many things to be grateful for and to remember at this time of year, and sometimes it's the little things- like handwritten notes from a 9 year old- that make a memory of such a time sparkle!

Sparkling Legs

This photo has nothing to with the post- It's just the cutest.  Taken: Thanksgiving weekend, 2012 All I said to get this photo was "Smile for me!" Talk about sassy! After Brooklyn sat in front of the computer for a 30-minute episode of Dora this morning while I cleaned the bathroom, I hollered at her that her "TV" time was over and we needed to get dressed for the day. She's been waking up dry- miracle, I tell ya- but she's not perfect at it so she's still in a diaper.  I laid her down to change her and we had the following conversation. B: Mom, did you know my leg has sparkles? Me, excitedly for her benefit: Oh, wow! That's so cool. B, angrily: Nuh-uh.  It hurts! Me, realizing the truth behind the sparkles: Ah, Brooklyn, does it feel tingly? B: Yeah.  Me: Oh!  That's because your leg is asleep! B: Stares back in silence, confused.  Then smiles and says, "Okay!" That had to be the weirdest explanation to her little ear...

Bottom's Up, Toothless!

This kid can't sit like a normal kid anymore. Seriously, she's always on the floor like this. Feet hanging in the air, sometimes over her head, sometimes more vertical.  Regardless, she's always watching TV like this, because clearly it's comfortable.   Along with her bum up stance, my heart breaks that our little Jocelyn's lost her first tooth!  AND I MISSED IT!  Busy with the Wizard of Oz, I was onstage and busy singing when she was with Kyle and Grandma Mac when she lost her first one. I'm also sad, because she has the prettiest little set of milky whites, complimenting her preciously smile, and I don't want her baby teeth to go! This also means, I have no photos of the process! She's got another loose one, and I'll be sure to make amends and photograph that one's removal. She wasn't feeling so great Sunday, but clearly the Toothfairy delivered and she was so happy to hold that dollar for a few hours of veggin' on the...
