Her First Steps!!!

Finally, we are seeing some progress!  Brooklyn is "behind" in comparison to her siblings when it comes to walking!  Everyone else started at 10 months.  But Brooklyn has been holding out on us.  UNTIL YESTERDAY!  Now she is trying like crazy!  Here come the bumps, bruises, and scrapes.  She is so funny about trying to.  She giggles at herself, and it's so cute!  And we all are eager to have her walk in between us, and she even tries to take off from holding on to the couch too!  It won't be long, and we won't have a baby on our hands at all.  Makes me happy and a bit sad too. 
But here's to you, Brooklyn!  Go get 'em!

Go Brooklyn GO!! That is just darling! Hooray for a sippy cup and no bottles. WISH me and Lucas could say the same.

The Opposite of Christmas Morning

We are having the opposite of Christmas morning at our house.  No toys.  We have one of these for storing toys: And several of these for the same reason: And last night the kids thought dumping them out for the sake of dumping toys would be fun.  This is a major rule breaker in our home.  I have had problems with this in the past, (even Mykalee knows this) and i have told them if it happens again, all the toys will disappear. And last night, after I found out what they had done, the toys have been grounded.  FOR A WEEK.  I hope it's as devastating as possible, so that they will learn I am serious when it comes to dumping toys out. {Also, Brooklyn is the only one who is exempt from this, as she was in bed.  Innocent.} On a side note, we did get the kids this on Friday.  It was time.  They seem to love it.

Catelyn--The Birthday Girl!

She knew.  I told her that she was getting a dress for her 8th birthday.  We tried some on, and fell in LOVE with the one we ended up surprising her with!  Doesn't she look too grown up?   I teared up as I watched 12 more years flash before my eyes as I saw her in this mini-wedding dress.  But it was the one for her.  We knew it. With Grandpa Dean's passing, we received special permission {which Kyle didn't like to have to ask for, because in the church handbook, it specifically says "Members should not ask for special permission to baptize their children. . .blah, blah blah....*Oh!! not that I am making fun of the handbook.  I just don't what it says exactly* I argued back that this was a rare exception, and we should at least ask. {Also, not as rare as I thought-- as I found out Friday night -March 18- that the family who had a viewing going at the same time as ours, at Coltrin's, had a baptism and a funeral in the same day as well! ...
