I wasn't sure it was true, so I haven't posted this one yet. But now I know it is, and I feel I can write it down with confidence.
A few weeks ago, Brooklyn had a night where she cried and cried, and just wouldn't go to bed. I wasn't sure what her deal was. She was mad and wouldn't take her bottle. I tried a sippy cup to see if that would help, and it only made things worse. Which was no surprise, because it took her until she was 11 months old to finally take a sippy cup. So her refusal of the cup wasn't that big a deal.
The next night, the same story, though she had taken her bottle during the day, so now I was thinking, "She just doesn't want to go to bed, that little pill!" I tried a cup again, and that just made her so hopping mad, it was near hilarious. Though not a laughing kind of funny, as it was 10:30 at night.
Night three, well a similar story but this time she decided to take the cup, and wanted a refill. Okay, sweet. That worked. And for the next few nights she would choose between the two, as we offered both.
And now, a few weeks later, we are bottle free as she wants a cup. Her decision to take a cup of milk makes me happy and sad at the same time.
It's nice to be done, but she still seems to little to not take a bottle. I haven't ever weaned my babies off a bottle this early. I don't care what doctors say, one is just too little. I usually have weaned them around 20 months, before they are two. By then, they are starting to look to 'old'. Well, by far, Brooklyn was the earliest and easiest to make the transition.
The pacifier, well that's gonna be a bit harder.

4 days after turning 1, she was officially bottle free!

Jonah was my only baby to even take a bottle. :( The transition from breast to cup was a beast for all my other kids, esp. Leah.
