BED TIME.
For the school season it's 7pm.
Just to set the story straight.
Okay, you can go on with your reading.
Sweet, right? Of course.
They're always so cute when they're sleeping. Lately Brooklyn's been the WORST about going to bed. Two nights ago? She was up until nearly 11pm! She won't stay in bed to save her life.
She'd tucked herself into our bed, with pillows on top of her, for her blanket.
Extra sweet, right?
Yup, and then when I pan out from the close up, we see where she really tucked herself into bed. Between the bed and wall, in a two foot cave by Kyle's nightstand. {Don't mind all the paperwork.}
On top of this bedtime crazy, she's super stealthy. No joke. She moves like a ghost. We've caught her, in full swing of:
Painting her own nails (9pm)
Using up all the band-aides (8:45pm)
Getting herself a drink. (11pm)
Making a jam sandwich-with Jam all over everything- (10pm)
Reading (10pm)
Emptying an entire tube of STICKY lip gloss. (9pm)
And those are just a few of the disasters I can think of right now. She's silent, as she moves through the house. Several times, she's scared us, because we weren't expecting to see anyone int he kitchen or bathroom, etc.... and each time it usually scares her too.
She's still living in her "Dance Performance". Any leotard is a dance performance outfit and she and Brooklyn as still in them. Every. Single. Day. of. the. Week. It's murder to get her into a dress for church.
Thankfully, she's allowing me to wash them at night, and will wear pajamas.
Adding to this, if she wakes up at night, which is about 4/7 nights, she doesn't come into our room. I hear vague sounds, and then nothing. I try to wake up sometimes, but usually I don't hear anything.
Again, she's super stealthy.
She'll put herself back to bed on the stairs, the couch and occasionally on the floor in the playroom.
Once in a blue moon, she returns to her own bed, downstairs.
Its freaky to wake up in the morning and find her somewhere randomly. I've told her a hundred times to come in and get me, for a drink or whatever, but she won't. Sometimes I don't hear anything, and that is the worst.
I'm hoping that she'll never open the door and wander outside in the dark.
That happened to a kid here a while back-- no one I knew-- but news traveled fast about it.
Bless her little heart. And a nap? Those are history, unless Benadryl comes to visit.
