Their Little Behinds

I probably shouldn't post these.  But you gotta know my kids are crazy funny sometimes. After running them through the tub in assembly line fashion, we sent them to their rooms to get dressed, because they are independent enough to do that kind of thing on their own. We didn't realize that all three of them went into Landon's room.  Catelyn was showering downstairs and the house was very quiet. That should have been our cue. But we obliviously enjoyed a few moments of quiet, while we cleaned up the mess left from dinner. When to our surprise and side-splitting laughter attack, these three came running out of Landon's room dressed like this: Well. If that isn't blackmail worthy for 10 years from now. Landon was the mastermind behind it all too. Pun intended. When we finally calmed our laughter down, Landon most lovingly and seriously said, "They can wear them all night if they want."

Speaking Landon

Landonisms: Things Landon says that sound like they came from an adult, but didn't and turn out to be very funny.  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Once again our son says something off-wall-funny! Where does he come up with this stuff! We went to Kyle's parents on Saturday, for his father's birthday. The kids were next door shooting hoops. Landon told Susan, the neighbor, that they were there for Grandpa's birthday. Susan asked "What's for dinner?" He said, "Hagamers, hot dogs and eggs with sprinkles on them." This which Susan replied: "Deviled eggs?" With a very serious look on his face Landon said, "No, they're not the devil's eggs."  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ KYLE: We're talking with the kids for FHE about responsibilities of dads, and I say one of them is to make money. "What do I make money for?" Landon says, "To give to the ...

Brithday Girl Brooklyn!

She had the best birthday.  It was her birthday, in her mind, for three days!  Don't blame her though, as we celebrated for three days in a row. Her little friend party was a huge success, and they seemed to all be happily enjoying the chocolate cupcake.  Several of them had faces covered in frosting in no time flat. Glad I didn't bust out the ice cream Later that night, she threw away her pacifiers, and she has been doing FABULOUS!  No crying or even asking for them since.  She is a pretty funny little girl, and we sure love her. Brooklyn answered the following questions for me: Favorite color: Orange. Favorite food: For dinner? Apples! Who is your best friend: Peyton (Reeves) Who do you love to play with: Lucas (Gordon) What do you like to watch on TV: Dora What do you want to do today: Play with toys What are you scared of: Monsters What do you hate: Bikes Where do you wanna go: Any friend's house What do you want be when you grow ...

Happy Easter!

What a joke. They digress. I get frustrated. I give up on it. And then I hate that I don't have a nice Easter shot of them. What a joke. NO comments about how APPROPRIATE BUNNY EARS are for these shots. Cause it was funny then, but now, not so much. Okay, maybe a little bit funny. I should have just stuck with the one I got at 7:03am when they discovered the Easter Bunny had left a bunch of eggs outside during the night!  Easter Sunday was also Brooklyn's birthday, but one of the best parts of the day was that Kyle didn't have as many meetings that morning and we were able to be at home together to discover the eggs on the lawn, baskets full of goodies, and open a birthday present.  It was a splendid day, and I hold out hope that maybe next year I get that Easter photo. {One with them smiling in their neatly pressed Easter outfits, that is.}

Sweetest Thing

Never you mind about the Cheeto lips in the following pictures.   I had just finished up feeding lunch to the kids on a Sunday, but chilly spring break day, and as I was lading the dishes, I heard excessive giggling.  I mean, truly EXCESSIVE laughter.  It was infectious.  I had to see what was up WITHOUT disrupting it. And to photography it? Well, I put on my spy cape, with invisibility capabilities, and grabbed the camera. And I caught this. There were a few moments, where I think they saw through my super cape.  Rocking back and forth and just being straight up silly, I found Landon, with Brooklyn on his lap, rocking back and forth in the banana chair. They were being incredibly silly.  I wish I could have video taped it. Brooklyn has this little game where we say, "chin to chin" or "nose to nose" and she touches her chin to your chin or her nose to yours.  It's cute.  She usually does lips to lips, too....

Spring Break...s My Heart

We had oodles of rain!  What a lousy way to spend spring break!So what's a mom to do?  Get creative.  I let Catelyn bake for the first time!  She loved it.  I had her gather all the ingredients ALL by herself, (along with her friends)twice! She had McKyra over once for baking and Lauren another time  and then let her mix it all together, while I double checked their measurements.   Good thing too, or we would have had a half cup of baking soda in our cookies instead of a half teaspoon.  It was a good lesson for her to learn, measuring stuff and knowing she could do it by herself.  After it was mixed, I walked away and let them scoop and bake.  They had the best time! Meanwhile, I thought that hosting a FHE with the Wards would be a great idea and it was!  The kids hunted for eggs that were filled with little bits of the story of Jesus' resurrection.  then they hunted for eggs filled with treats!  We had di...

How you doin'?

Me: What's the matter? Brooklyn: "Oh, I haven't been sleeping well." Me: Why not? Brooklyn: "Justcuz." Four days of having a hard time sleeping at night and falling asleep in any one's arms mid-day.  Constantly coming upstairs to get us, sometimes not even making it UP the stairs and falling back to sleep on them. Turns out she had a scheduled doctor's appointment anyway on March 20th, just four days into running a fever off and on, so I held out.  She was supposed to be getting shots, but I knew she wouldn't be receiving those. And indeed, she had a ear infection. No big deal.  And the best part?  I've got her convinced that taking her medicine is fun when you get to hold the syringe yourself and squirt the medicine into your own mouth.  She's constantly asking if she can take her medicine now. Only two more days of it, and then we're done.  She's been doing much better.  I really am grateful for modern medicine an...
