Brooklyn's Broken Arm

This cute girl was fine one minute...

And then NOT the next. Brooklyn hopped off
the trampoline, tripped and fell, and broke her arm, Friday night, May 31.

I was positive it was a green stick break. And it just so happened to be
the same arm as Jocelyn last summer, so we snatched up the brace and waited
until morning to take her in for an x-ray.

And sure enough, it was exactly what I suspected.
Only it was on both the Ulna and Radius.

She was shaky and cold, but in good spirits as we waited
for the results. Since it was swollen, we had to wait a few days to get her little cast.

See those dents? Nice, huh.

This photo was taken at Chad's, but it captures her perfectly.
It literally took the snap right out of her for a few days.

The Opposite of Christmas Morning

We are having the opposite of Christmas morning at our house.  No toys.  We have one of these for storing toys: And several of these for the same reason: And last night the kids thought dumping them out for the sake of dumping toys would be fun.  This is a major rule breaker in our home.  I have had problems with this in the past, (even Mykalee knows this) and i have told them if it happens again, all the toys will disappear. And last night, after I found out what they had done, the toys have been grounded.  FOR A WEEK.  I hope it's as devastating as possible, so that they will learn I am serious when it comes to dumping toys out. {Also, Brooklyn is the only one who is exempt from this, as she was in bed.  Innocent.} On a side note, we did get the kids this on Friday.  It was time.  They seem to love it.

Catelyn--The Birthday Girl!

She knew.  I told her that she was getting a dress for her 8th birthday.  We tried some on, and fell in LOVE with the one we ended up surprising her with!  Doesn't she look too grown up?   I teared up as I watched 12 more years flash before my eyes as I saw her in this mini-wedding dress.  But it was the one for her.  We knew it. With Grandpa Dean's passing, we received special permission {which Kyle didn't like to have to ask for, because in the church handbook, it specifically says "Members should not ask for special permission to baptize their children. . .blah, blah blah....*Oh!! not that I am making fun of the handbook.  I just don't what it says exactly* I argued back that this was a rare exception, and we should at least ask. {Also, not as rare as I thought-- as I found out Friday night -March 18- that the family who had a viewing going at the same time as ours, at Coltrin's, had a baptism and a funeral in the same day as well! ...
