Landon's Birthday!

Well, you do one interview, you have to do the others.  Here's what I could glean from Landon.

What's your favorite food/
Sandwich and Mac-a-Roni and Cheese
What's your favorite color?
Green and Red?
Not Orange and Blue?
And Orange and Blue!

Who do you love?
JJ and Ryan and my Friends.
Anyone else? (Hint hint, like you're mom.)
Cooper? Why? (Me, frustrated.)

What do you like to do?
Play Angry Birds and Trains
What do you want to be when you grow up?
Oceanographer.
A what?
He's like a guy who looks in the sea for animals.
Where'd you learn that?
Talon, who lives in our neighborhood.

What can you do now that you're six?
Build Lego's. and a big train track.
Do you have girlfriend?
No, not yet. (Runs away, with a sly wicked grin on his face, and a dart gun in hand.)

Well, that's all for that interview.

We had a great time celebrating Landon's birthday.  He had friends over as well, and those 4 boys were LOUD and RAMBUNCTIOUS and WILD.  But they seemed to have a great time.  And that's what matters most.  Later we opened gifts and had cupcakes.

The only down side was Landon cried a lot.  All day.  I think the over anticipation and actual build up was more than he could handle.  He left for school in tears and went to bed crying.  Poor kid.  He was upset and we were upset with his behavior, but what can you do?  He's six.

Barely.

He's the best little boy.  We are so happy he is a part of our family!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LANDON!

The Opposite of Christmas Morning

We are having the opposite of Christmas morning at our house.  No toys.  We have one of these for storing toys: And several of these for the same reason: And last night the kids thought dumping them out for the sake of dumping toys would be fun.  This is a major rule breaker in our home.  I have had problems with this in the past, (even Mykalee knows this) and i have told them if it happens again, all the toys will disappear. And last night, after I found out what they had done, the toys have been grounded.  FOR A WEEK.  I hope it's as devastating as possible, so that they will learn I am serious when it comes to dumping toys out. {Also, Brooklyn is the only one who is exempt from this, as she was in bed.  Innocent.} On a side note, we did get the kids this on Friday.  It was time.  They seem to love it.

Catelyn--The Birthday Girl!

She knew.  I told her that she was getting a dress for her 8th birthday.  We tried some on, and fell in LOVE with the one we ended up surprising her with!  Doesn't she look too grown up?   I teared up as I watched 12 more years flash before my eyes as I saw her in this mini-wedding dress.  But it was the one for her.  We knew it. With Grandpa Dean's passing, we received special permission {which Kyle didn't like to have to ask for, because in the church handbook, it specifically says "Members should not ask for special permission to baptize their children. . .blah, blah blah....*Oh!! not that I am making fun of the handbook.  I just don't what it says exactly* I argued back that this was a rare exception, and we should at least ask. {Also, not as rare as I thought-- as I found out Friday night -March 18- that the family who had a viewing going at the same time as ours, at Coltrin's, had a baptism and a funeral in the same day as well! ...
