Field Trip for Preschool and More

So much fun to take the munchkins to see the dairy.  And during Corn Harvest, to boot. Later that week, Brooklyn got into the make-up on Sunday Morning. We let her cut grapes.  With a knife.  And she continues to fall asleep in the craziest places at night when we give up on getting her to go to bed.

Landon Updated

This kid just makes my heart smile.  He's such a good sport!  He needed a cavity filled and while we were at it, we had all four of them in for cleanings.  He and Jo had to have cavities filled, where Cate and Brooklyn walked away cavity free, for now. When the put the gas mask on Landon's nose, they missed slightly.  Kyle was able to join us on his lunch and he and I laughed so hard, and so did he.  One they straightened that out, and the gas started to work, LANDON WAS A RIOT. He kept giggling and waving at us and was just flat out goofy.  That kid is a silly boy on a little laughing gas, I tell ya. He's going to be in the Lollipop Guild for The Wizard of Oz, the fall musical we're in, and he's so cute doing that too. He's coming home with great grades and seems to be loving 2nd grade.  He's quick to obey and always eager to play soccer.  Even with Swagger, who's starting to enjoy a soccer ball too. Still a skinny bum, but he's getti...

Corn Harvest 2012

We've had to have conversations, again, in our house about SWEET corn and FIELD corn, and if you don't know the difference, let me just tell you.  You'd be hard pressed and starving to enjoy FIELD corn.  I think the older two have it figured out.   That, and the difference between straw and hey. It's officially FALL, and I busted out the Halloween decor, but what's got me in the mood really is our ANNUAL PACK CORN MARATHON.  Also known as Corn Harvest. The corn is so TALL this year. The tallest we've had in YEARS.  My mom was right when she said Dean would be proud of it!  You don't want to know why.    Okay, I'll tell. It was the fertilizer.  It wasn't from animals or plants.  'Nuff said. (Just so anyone who might be grossed out by this, you should know, it's a big deal, and it's done all around the world.  Cool thing however- it's clearly treated and turned into a liquid form, just like other fertilizer he co...

First Day of Pre K

Oh Brooklyn!  We're doing Joy School this year with Lucas Gordon, Kalli Egbert, Peyton Reeves, and Charlie Ward, and you couldn't be more silly and excited about it! She's all about the social aspect of it, and you better believe that she loves going to her friends' houses. On top of that she keeps asking when it's going to be our turn to have preschool at our house.  When I told her not until October, she just tipped her head at me and laughed and said that was "Silly." Go figure.

Ross Park

Enjoying the heat of the concrete. It's funny that they lined up like that on their own. Landon refusing to remove his T shirt.  He swore it kept him warmer! She's so content when it comes to water. The older boys- Landon, Jaden, Jaxon, and Josh! The Older girls! Lilly, Ali, Catelyn and Jocelyn! Not sure what they're talking about, but you can see they had to clear the kiddie pool for a bit. Brooklyn enjoys her snacks, okay? This is what she does 90% of the time we swim.  She takes to the water like a hippo. Now I have two hippos.  All the way in, except for the head.

Just Brooklyn

Right this very moment, at 10:08 am, she is still asleep.  Go figure.  Now that I get up at 7 am to get the kids off to school, she decides it's time to catch up on sleep?  I could kill her, if she weren't so dang cute.  One week ago, she decided after having a bike at her fingertips since July 24th, that NOW she was ready to ride it.  It's freaky how fast she takes off and can disappear on you, too.  She's pretty brave to just go wherever her heart leads her. I think she thinks she owns the neighborhood.  On Sunday morning, after blow drying my hair, I asked the kids where she was.  No one knew. 15 minutes later, she came through the door, and while I did let her have it,  she casually told me she'd ridden her bike over to her friends' house, which by the way is 5+ doors away, around the corner, etc....  The devil. She's so stinkin' proud of herself for being able to ride it too.  See that face?   ...

First Day of 4th Grade

Catelyn has Mrs. Knibbs this year for fourth grade, and she's so excited about it!  I am excited for her to learn about Idaho History and such.  I loved fourth grade, and she's pretty eager to learn!  Her new favorite color is LIME and she wants everything in the color! She's got several friends in her class, and making new ones all the time!
