Speaking Larsen

I am so grateful for Candace, and her willingness to try to get a family photo for us. It was cold, noses were red, and she isn't a photographer. But we survived the weather, will have to not worry about those red noses, and Candace did a great job!!! I am not sure we got the photo to blow up to a 24x20 or anything, but we did get some fun photos. I love photographing my kids, and they were so funny to shoot on Saturday! Mesa Falls is a great place to go as a family. For lots of reasons. This is just one of them.

Cate has swine flu. A good case of it too. Poor girl. This too shall pass, to Landon. Then, this too shall pass to Jocelyn. Then this too shall pass to Brooklyn, or me, or Kyle. I am sure of it. Stinkin' H1N1. We love you Cate, and you will be better soon.

We spent too much time taking silly photos with Ryan's webcam. But they were hilarious! The kids colored a bit, played a lot, and hardly fought. Landon is getting pretty big, and so independent. It's pretty cool. Jocelyn licked the beater clean after baking up some peanut butter bars. Yum! Brooklyn starting sitting the day after conference, but she is just so stinkin' cute, I can't help but post a photo of her sitting so tall, eating a toy car at Grandma's Cindy's. Grandma Betty came on Conference Sunday, and sadly left for Boise, then to Cardson yesterday. One week of Grandma is never enough for me and the kids. We did take a few minutes to get soem 4 generation photos. You can see really quick who wasn't in the mood for such a thing. {Landon} Cate is getting to the point where she poses at the slight hint of her name when I am holding the camera. And of course, we needed a photo of Grandma with all 4 of the kids. Brooklyn sure gets a lot of attentio...

So, Brooklyn, you are only 14 pounds and apparently, you haven't grown since your last doctor's appt. You stopped growing. Boo. So because of that Dr. E wants you to get more calories via formula. I hate that I have to give you a bottle. But, I have wondered if you weren't getting enough to eat the last few weeks. Mostly at night, cause you cry a lot. So despite how I feel bad that I haven't been helping you grow through nursing, and I am sad to give you a bottle, it's a good feeling still to see you drink down a bottle and feel happy and full. So hesitantly I offered you a bottle, nervous that your tummy wouldn't be able to digest it like oatmeal or rice. We got lucky. You drank it and kept it down like a champ! Well done my dearie. Let's hope you can get growing again. And you found your little scream! It's hilarious and annoying! Love, Mom

Brooklyn Jade, April 8, 2009 Brooklyn Update: SHE SITS!!!! On Monday, Sept. 5 she just took to sitting like nobody's business. She is doing awesome at it...barely tipping over. She sits for so long that she starts to cry about being stuck there. So cute! SHE SPITS no more! Seriously we get the occasional spit up that a normal baby would produce, but it's to the point where we aren't using bibs at all! Yeah! It's fantastic! SHE SLEEPS like a stinker! Still waking up way to often. Is this because she isn't getting enough to eat?? SHE PUKES! I can't feed this kid much, still. Definitely no rice or oatmeal. So far her tiny tummy can take peas, applesauce, and pears. Upcoming trial food this week is carrots. SHE SMILES. Like crazy. SHE LAUGHS. A little. She might be like Jocelyn and take forever to really just let the giggle come out! Oh well. We can tell she is happy. SHE ROLLS. Everywhere. On occasion, she gets stuck under the couch or a chair. Brooklyn has a nickname sorta, one that Kyle is using! BUMBO! (Though I am not sure this is a nickname I will be using. I seem to call her sugar more and more. I can't handle the thought of her being called Bumbo as she gets older...it goes along with dumbo and jumbo too well.) I broke down and bought one. They are a rubber-like chair that keeps them upright and comfy! She has been so much happier since I did too! You can see her enjoying a show with Jo Jo (Dora, of course). And she is able to sit up on the counters with me while I do dishes. (Sure, sure, I know the instructions say to NOT put it up on any surfaces, but really folks, I watch her.) It's been a great investment for us! Landon and Jocelyn also paused on Sunday last week for a quick photo. Jo's little piggy tails are getting longer and longer and just spiral like a pigs tail! They are so cute. Everywhere we go, people ask and comment about her hair. So funny.

That's right folks, and she has a lisp to go with the song!!! She is a pretty awesome little 1st grader!
