What a Weekend!

Every day was super busy!

Tuesday started off with cleaning and Chad and Courtney coming early. (Thanks again Chelsie for the help!)

Wednesday we hung out, make cookies,

created a blog for Courtney (that I have my suspicions she'll never use) and then prepping for the airport event. ("Janelle, you're not his girlfriend!" and "Gina, your'e not his girlfriend" were phrases spoken as Janelle and I fretted over what to wear.) We went to the airport after decorating the fence at home with balloons. Everybody waited anxiously as he (with Mom and Dad) got of the plane. Then the hugs began as he entered the room, looking no different than he had when he left. Though we all swear he IS taller! And so thin! Kyle and Chad bought pizzas for us all to eat as we sat around the house, squished as we were, to look at a slide show on the TV as Blake narrated some of his favorite things about Sendai, and we all died with laughter when we leared about squatters. We saw oONE CD of photos of about 15? maybe. He has so many photos. The advantage of a digital camera while on a mission.

This was some entertainment too.
Then she started jumping up and landing on her bum...all the while she was laughing. It looked like it hurt.

Thursday: Blake went up to Rexburg with Chad and Courtney to check into his housing and classes. BYUI is waiting for him to start classes on Monday, even though the first day was Wednesday, the day he got home. I fed everyone dinner at my place. We talked all night. So fun!

Friday: The BIG PROJECT

began, as everyone pitched in to plant Mom's flower beds. Whew! Glad I got to babysit the five kids. Then, Blake and Janelle, Courtney, and I went to the MALL. Ew. That took all afternoon. We had a hard time finding pants for Blake that were long enough, but skinny enough too.
dillards
Thank you Dillards. (Of course, the oldest and wisest sister suggested starting there, but the younger ones thought it best to hit all the trendy stores first....) We got Chelsie to kindly babysit as we all went out to the Olive Garden for dinner.
Olive Garden
(Thanks Jim!) Then it was back to mom's for a while to gab and gab!

Saturday, Kyle had three funerals, of course. So the day was spent catching up on a few things around the house, while Ryan (who joined us Friday night) and Blake hit Best Buy and spent a LONG time there. Boys. (Blake did end up getting a iPhone.) We then had some leftovers for dinner and got ready to go to the theater.
We were seeing Transformers,
Photobucket

(WHICH WAS AWESOME! and had one of my favorite Linkin Park songs) at Larsen Theaters. Complementary tickets made this affordable. (Thanks Mac!) Also an hour or so was spent playing on the Wii. That was a late night, which only made our Sunday longer. Chad and Courtney had spent the day in Logan at a family reunion there. The joined us late that night as well.

Sunday began early as we drove to Pocatello for Geneva's baby blessing.

Then we dashed back to make it to the Sage Creek ward as Blake was speaking. He did great. He made me cry. Little devil. Then is was back to mom's for the Sunday BBQ. Lots of photos, lots of food, lots of talking, and finally after everyone was gone, we took off too. Got the kids into bed, and crashed ourselves.

Monday: Recovery day. With a T-Ball game in the middle of it.
Tuesday: Scrapbook day! What fun to escape it all and play with paper. (And Murphy's Law would be that Kyle would get the day off. He had work to do though, and got us a riding lawn mower! THe usual two hour mow only took him 40 minutes. Thanks again, Mac and Kelly!)
Wednesday: Only time will tell...With another T-Ball game right in the middle of it.
Here are a few pictures of the weekend!

Just off the plane!

What a fun and busy weekend!!! SO much fun. I have to say that I think your brother Blake and Landon look somewhat alike. Maybe it is just the pictures but I think that they do.
That's awesome- frenzied fun family time.
You got a riding mower?! Lucky ducks.

Wow! Busy but fun!

Last night when we were at your house eating, I sat down on the blanket to chat with the kids for a bit. Katelyn told me all about your family and said, "and we even have a new cousin Geneva, isn't that the cutest name you have ever heard?" It was the way she lifted her shoulders up and tilted her head and raised her voice when she said, "cutttteeeesssst" that made me smile.

The Opposite of Christmas Morning

We are having the opposite of Christmas morning at our house.  No toys.  We have one of these for storing toys: And several of these for the same reason: And last night the kids thought dumping them out for the sake of dumping toys would be fun.  This is a major rule breaker in our home.  I have had problems with this in the past, (even Mykalee knows this) and i have told them if it happens again, all the toys will disappear. And last night, after I found out what they had done, the toys have been grounded.  FOR A WEEK.  I hope it's as devastating as possible, so that they will learn I am serious when it comes to dumping toys out. {Also, Brooklyn is the only one who is exempt from this, as she was in bed.  Innocent.} On a side note, we did get the kids this on Friday.  It was time.  They seem to love it.

Happy Birthday Catelyn!!!

Breaking News: Brooklyn

Nothing like getting a sharp poke in the ear. Especially when you're two and an half and ASK for it. When Brooklyn was a baby I went to have her ears done, but decided to hold off, since her one ear lobe was so tiny, and her ears were very different in size. So I waited. For her to grow into her ears. And to grow some hair. Still waiting on the hair part, so earrings seemed like a great idea. She asked for them, and since we both wanted them, we went and got them. She picked out a pair, and viola, it was done. She said, "Owwwww!" once, and then laughed when the lady gave her a sucker and began modeling for me and Kyle.  All to show off her new earrings! Yup, seriously, she loves them.  It's pretty stinking cute.  She is constantly telling me, each time we clean and rotate them, "Mom, never take them out, 'kay?" Okay. Deal. And I did mention that we are waiting on some hair, but some is sprouting. So we're hopeful! See, she...
