Jocelyn's Baptism

Jocelyn's baptism day fell on Valentines Day's. We had a crazy weekend, but everything went really smoothly, all things considered, and she was thrilled to be baptized! She kept saying, "Mom, I am just so happy."

One of the funniest things about her baptism was that she wanted Kyle to hold her under the water for a full ten seconds. He didn't count to ten, but he did hold her under much longer than most other
Kyle baptized and confirmed her and then we went to Pizza Pie Cafe for lunch. After words we went to Mac and Kelly's to relax and had a little Valentine exchange. All the cousins were together and they had a blast!

Lynn and Cindy gave her white shoes, a pearl necklace and bracelet with hearts, and her baptismal Barbie doll accompanied with a bookmark about Three White Dresses. Mac and Kelly gave her a super cute purple scripture case and scriptures. Mom and Dad--me and Kyle-- gave her a white dress, headband, and a silly little stuffed animal with eyes the size of saucer plates. Lisa and Lee gave her a little medallion for her scriptures. Her best friend, Paige, gave her an awesome ball-style necklace, and Paula and Blaine and Emery gave her a baptism necklace, too! All of them are so pretty and each of them have something special about them!

We forgot to bring a brush to do her hair after her baptism, so we had to wing it. Poor girl's hair was a tattered mess, but it looked super pretty before hand.

Happy Birthday Catelyn!!! Yesterday was you last day as a 6 year old. Here we go for 7!!! The Opposite of Christmas Morning

We are having the opposite of Christmas morning at our house. No toys. We have one of these for storing toys: And several of these for the same reason: And last night the kids thought dumping them out for the sake of dumping toys would be fun. This is a major rule breaker in our home. I have had problems with this in the past, (even Mykalee knows this) and i have told them if it happens again, all the toys will disappear. And last night, after I found out what they had done, the toys have been grounded. FOR A WEEK. I hope it's as devastating as possible, so that they will learn I am serious when it comes to dumping toys out. {Also, Brooklyn is the only one who is exempt from this, as she was in bed. Innocent.} On a side note, we did get the kids this on Friday. It was time. They seem to love it.

Catelyn--The Birthday Girl!

She knew. I told her that she was getting a dress for her 8th birthday. We tried some on, and fell in LOVE with the one we ended up surprising her with! Doesn't she look too grown up? I teared up as I watched 12 more years flash before my eyes as I saw her in this mini-wedding dress. But it was the one for her. We knew it. With Grandpa Dean's passing, we received special permission {which Kyle didn't like to have to ask for, because in the church handbook, it specifically says "Members should not ask for special permission to baptize their children. . .blah, blah blah....*Oh!! not that I am making fun of the handbook. I just don't what it says exactly* I argued back that this was a rare exception, and we should at least ask. {Also, not as rare as I thought-- as I found out Friday night -March 18- that the family who had a viewing going at the same time as ours, at Coltrin's, had a baptism and a funeral in the same day as well! ...
