Well, first things first. We made the most impromptu trip to Boise, on Tuesday Oct 23. You see, Kyle grew up in Meridian, but had his house faced south he would've been a Boise resident.
Anyway, growing in there, the Boise temple was his 'home' temple, and now that it's been under construction for nearly 2 years, he was eager to go see the major renovations.
Timing is everything and we were able to go. I was on the phone in the car headed to Boise making arrangements for things I was going to be unable to take care of because of it!
The kids LOVED the temple. It was an experience filled with hushed whispers and questions, smiles and oohs and ahhhs. I feel great gratitude that we were able to show the children the inside of the temple, and remove some of their curiosity. The girls loved the Bride's room, and everyone was mesmerized by the chandeliers.
The weather wasn't so great, so we hurried off to warmer climates and headed to lunch! Then we went to see Kyle's house and Nampa.
But the fun really kicked in when we went to BSU.
The lady inside this fancy outer building which led to the field, who was more experienced in life than I, said we could go out on the 'patio' but we weren't to go on the field.
Well, hush. We let those kids break the rules and they TOUCHED the blue field!
Such rebels, I know. Gotta know when it's OK to break a rule. If you visit BSU and it's not game time, APPARENTLY YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO TOUCH THE FIELD. {Never mind that hundreds of grown men, rough house and play football on it.}
After being rebellious, we took them out to eat at The Melting Pot. They LOVED it. Perhaps they didn't appreciate it, but it was very enjoyable to send dinner together like that. Of course, dessert was their favorite part!
It was long day, and I'm glad the kids were able to sleep all the way home without any problems.
