Speaking Larsen

August brought our last opportunity to go swimming in Utah. Kyle was able to get time off, and he was able to come with us. We hit the road, and drove to Salt Lake City where we swam at the Seven Peaks there. Collectively, we have decided that the one in Provo is way better. Not that we didn't have a good time, we did! The kids had their cousins to swim and play with. But I let Catelyn bring another friend since she really doesn't have any cousins her age. . Emily Kearsley join us on super short notice, but was a delight to have with us. We had a great time, however I wish that the weather would have been a little bit more desirable. It was not nearly as hot as we had hoped. And I swear the water was much colder. Chad and Courtney and Janelle joined us. We packed lunches and enjoyed lots of snacks. The bees however were horrible! Til next year!

One hot afternoon, Kambria and I laid out in the sun and watched the kids have a big swimming party. We were reading, but her sister was also texting her quite a bit. Her sister was bragging a little bit about what they were doing. We had to show off what fun we were having, and decided to make the kids form a human pyramid. The kids had fun, and we laughed and laughed.

On Monday, September 16th Jocelyn was able to remove her brace! After a quick x ray, Dr. Reed Ward said that it was good to go! She was so excited to go to dance and be able to do a cartwheels again! That was a really long 6 weeks! Hopefully we don't have to repeat that again. Other than that, she's excited to have her brace for Injury Day at school. Injury Day is part of spirit week, in which the kids learn about saying no to drugs.

Another year has come and gone that we have enjoyed the Blackfoot fair. This year, I only let the kids miss school on Friday. Kyle had the day off so we were able to go as a family to help. Because everybody is in school full time, Brooklyn and I went down to help Wednesday and Thursday. It explains why I have a couple more photos of her then the other kids. It was funny, but I couldn't get Landon to look at the camera for anything ! Of course the kids had to get ice cream. The little red barn that sells ice cream is one of the fair's best kept secrets. They will sell you a kids cones for $1. And at the fair, that's about the only thing you can buy for a buck.

Brooklyn and Jocelyn have been going to dance since the end of August. They are not in the same class this year. And I decided to let them go ahead and do gymnastics. They are loving it! I don't know if we will do it the entire year, because last year they were bored by February. But for now, they love Miss Janelle. They also have many friends in their classes! Jocelyn has Tayci and Paige. Brooklyn has Addy. I'm looking forward to their little recitals and dance performances. I think they are looking forward to the costumes.

So.  Friday night we'd gone out to a movie with friends and left the kids in the care of a great babysitter.   Turns out Jo took a fall from the monkey bars. SweetbabysitterJ didn't do anything wrong and in fact, did exactly what I would have done. Loved her, iced it, and put her to bed on time.  I found out at 2 a.m. when Jo comes up stairs that her wrist hurt, but I didn't know what the cause was behind it why.  Didn't care, to be honest, because I was half asleep and so was she. Come morning, I hear the tale of wo, and we ice it again and go about our day with Ibuprofen as our friend. She's acting fine, just complaining off and on that it hurts. The thought that it could be broken crosses mind immediately, but I decide to give it time before rushing into an ER joint and paying lots for it.  Plus, I had a bridal shower and a few other things to do.  And she was FINE.... Come Sunday, she complained even less.  I'm starting to think we...

Bless that girl's heart. She has a ear infection. Likely culprit is swimming in dirty water. Can we say, RIGBY LAKE? Nothing too bad, barely hurts, but still a problem. Sure enough it's a outter ear problem, and not in deep, which is weird to me, but there is more to one's ear than just the drum. So she gets ear drops for a week, 3 times a day. ALSO worth noting, every one of my kids made a doctor's visit a necessity within a month's time.  Aren't they so fair and thoughtful? -Brooklyn for a serious UTI. -Jocelyn for a broken wrist. -Landon for severe Migraine. -And Cate for her ear.
