BOOM! There's a Teenager in the House!

Well, Catelyn's officially 13!

Cute at a button, this girl keeps us on our toes and up at night.

As a big surprise, we threw her a surprise birthday party!

We locked the garage door, on our way out to "Family Dinner" and then claimed we forgot our wallets when we were halfway to Olive Garden--her choice.

Even the grandparents were in on it!

We drove back to the house and when she couldn't get in, we told her to try the front door, just in case.

And then BOOM! Surprise!

She was shocked.

Meanwhile, I went inside and Kyle took the kids out for a quick bite while Cate and her friends had a party!

As a family, we opened presents at the church because we had a ward party to attend as well, and that's when Cate got her real sterling silver, opal and purple sapphire ring, a purse, and Facebook!

Happy Birthday Catelyn!!! Yesterday was you last day as a 6 year old. Here we go for 7!!! The Opposite of Christmas Morning

We are having the opposite of Christmas morning at our house. No toys. We have one of these for storing toys: And several of these for the same reason: And last night the kids thought dumping them out for the sake of dumping toys would be fun. This is a major rule breaker in our home. I have had problems with this in the past, (even Mykalee knows this) and i have told them if it happens again, all the toys will disappear. And last night, after I found out what they had done, the toys have been grounded. FOR A WEEK. I hope it's as devastating as possible, so that they will learn I am serious when it comes to dumping toys out. {Also, Brooklyn is the only one who is exempt from this, as she was in bed. Innocent.} On a side note, we did get the kids this on Friday. It was time. They seem to love it.

Catelyn--The Birthday Girl!

She knew. I told her that she was getting a dress for her 8th birthday. We tried some on, and fell in LOVE with the one we ended up surprising her with! Doesn't she look too grown up? I teared up as I watched 12 more years flash before my eyes as I saw her in this mini-wedding dress. But it was the one for her. We knew it. With Grandpa Dean's passing, we received special permission {which Kyle didn't like to have to ask for, because in the church handbook, it specifically says "Members should not ask for special permission to baptize their children. . .blah, blah blah....*Oh!! not that I am making fun of the handbook. I just don't what it says exactly* I argued back that this was a rare exception, and we should at least ask. {Also, not as rare as I thought-- as I found out Friday night -March 18- that the family who had a viewing going at the same time as ours, at Coltrin's, had a baptism and a funeral in the same day as well! ...
