Landon's been having headaches.
When he came home from day camp this past Thursday, he went into the fetal position and cried hard. The poor little guy had been holding the tears back for a while I think, unwilling to let his leaders and friends know he was in pain.
I felt prompted to get him to the doctor immediately. I know what you might be thinking. For a headache?
Yes, for a headache.
See we have a history in our family of severe migraines. The kind that knock you unconcoious and make you vomit. The kind that are debilitating. Light and sound become offensive and intolerable.
So, I took him in.
He was pale and fragile looking as the nurse took his vitals. When she came back, she brought the blood pressure cuff with her. To our surprise, his blood pressure was high.
This could mean two things: One, he is in severe pain, because high blood pressure is associated with pain. and Two, something else is going on.
So AJ wanted blood and urine samples. And an Echo. And a MRI, if necessary.
We're takign it one step at a time, and were able to get blood right away... he was uber brave, and after the needle was in, he watched them take 2 vials.
He had a little stage fright and couldn't pee, so we brought a cup home and caught in Friday mornign and ran it in.
We will see what his reuslts are before we proceed with an Echo. And based on that, we will decided on the MRI.
At this point, my goal is to track these headaches. When they show up, what was he doing when it came on, how far apart are they from each other. . .etc.
So, for now it's just headaches.s
Landon's having headaches. *sigh*
