End of August

We made it back from Canada just in time for the first day of school.  The sun was so bright, it was hard to look at the camera in our usual spot in front of the school.  But they were super excited and both of them got the teacher they had hoped for, so that was a great way to start the year.

Catelyn has Mrs. Boren, for third grade. She didn't have as many of her friends from the previous year in her class, especially Ila, who isn't in the same class, but she said she was excited to meet new people and make new friends.

And Landon has Mrs. McCammon, and many of his friends from last year are in the same class!

Kyle signed Landon up for soccer this fall.  He's so cute about it.  {Kyle, not Landon.}  Okay, well Landon's pretty cute about it too.  He LOVES his Green Gator team and seems to be enjoying soccer immensely!

Of course we had to watch the first BSU game of the season at Grandma and Grandpa Larsens!  The kids had had a sleepover the night before and got BSU face stickers from Grandma and they wore them all day that day.  They didn't really watch any of the game, but they sure love going an hanging out and eating BSU chips and mints.

See our little tiger taking after his dad in foot skills?  He's so awesome!

And the little girls?  Well they have been absolutely hilarious since their two older siblings have been gone all day every day for school.  They have been playing so well together.   They do the funniest things: watch the "movies" that play on the reflection of the oven, and in the dryer, from walking around with buckets on their heads {I die laughing at the one with Jo Jo give thumbs up and Brooklyn panicking} to taking the barbies on a nec-ked boat ride, to watching movies and Playing with Babies...whose current names are: Ella, Anna, Sessah, and Hannah. {Do you hear a repeating "ah" sound there?}  Jo will start Speech Therapy soon, and Brooklyn's hair is finally starting to grow a bit.  Perhaps we will be able to put in a baby pony tail by her 3rd birthday!

The Opposite of Christmas Morning

We are having the opposite of Christmas morning at our house.  No toys.  We have one of these for storing toys: And several of these for the same reason: And last night the kids thought dumping them out for the sake of dumping toys would be fun.  This is a major rule breaker in our home.  I have had problems with this in the past, (even Mykalee knows this) and i have told them if it happens again, all the toys will disappear. And last night, after I found out what they had done, the toys have been grounded.  FOR A WEEK.  I hope it's as devastating as possible, so that they will learn I am serious when it comes to dumping toys out. {Also, Brooklyn is the only one who is exempt from this, as she was in bed.  Innocent.} On a side note, we did get the kids this on Friday.  It was time.  They seem to love it.

Catelyn--The Birthday Girl!

She knew.  I told her that she was getting a dress for her 8th birthday.  We tried some on, and fell in LOVE with the one we ended up surprising her with!  Doesn't she look too grown up?   I teared up as I watched 12 more years flash before my eyes as I saw her in this mini-wedding dress.  But it was the one for her.  We knew it. With Grandpa Dean's passing, we received special permission {which Kyle didn't like to have to ask for, because in the church handbook, it specifically says "Members should not ask for special permission to baptize their children. . .blah, blah blah....*Oh!! not that I am making fun of the handbook.  I just don't what it says exactly* I argued back that this was a rare exception, and we should at least ask. {Also, not as rare as I thought-- as I found out Friday night -March 18- that the family who had a viewing going at the same time as ours, at Coltrin's, had a baptism and a funeral in the same day as well! ...
