First Dentist Trip

And we have 3 surface cavities.  Boo.  Quite the pre-Halloween treat! Jocelyn did great - though all we did was basically took a good look at her little bitty baby teeth.  The 3 cavities are pretty surface-y  (Yup, I am pretty sure that's not a real dental term. Perhaps if Ethney reads this she can clue me in to what term would be more suitable.) and he doesn't think we will need to drill her or cause her pain.  So we are going to try to do them without numbin' her up or anything and using just a bit of laughing gas.  we will see in a few weeks!

TWINS!

Catelyn and Ila Seriously, these two girls are so funny!  Proof that great minds do think alike: Arin (Ila's mom) and I bought the girls a few things for school that were exactly the same, or darn near close to it without knowing it until a few weeks into school.  Well, the girls knew about the matching lunch boxes on day one....  Matching shirts, check.  Matching Levis, check. Matching Lunch boxes, check.  The same shoes, slightly different shades of pink, check. They love being twins.  (Least that's how they see themselves.)

FAIR-ly Fun for Them, too!

Catelyn and Landon each got to spend a day (leaving EARLY in the morning) at the fair.  This year they were both big enough to empty the wheelbarrow (with a little help), use a pocket knife and cut the bales, and watch for poop.  They felt pretty big.  Then on Saturday the kids and I went to the fair for show day...minus Kyle cause he had to work....and we spent the day doing the fair thing.  We ate and talked and ate.  the kids were mesmerized by You Tube videos on Janelle's phone, practiced climbing up the fence, and snarfed up cotton candy.  They made some new friends and had a blast.  I didn't realize how city we were though until Landon asked what a udder was. *sigh* Embarrassing for me that he is so ill-educated when it comes to these kinds of things.  Oh well. They really had a great time....See for yourself: New Friend: Gwen and Greg Anderson's little girl, Lydia I know some kids shouldn't be given knives and other sharp objects....

Pretty Hair for You too...

Brooklyn likes wearing Jo Jo's little toy hair piece.  She doesn't have much hair still, so this is a fun way to make up for her slow growing follicles.

Kida (pronounced "pet")

Kida: Pronounced KEY-DUH, noun. Our pet cat.  Truly, the kids couldn't be happier.  Brooklyn has added the word "Tee Tee!!!!" to her list of vocabulary due to the arrival of Kida.  She's always been a part of our family.  We had her before we even had Catelyn.  The full story of how she came to live with us {again} on my blog! Let me tel you this though... Landon seems indifferent to her, and Catelyn has taken to the idea of caring for her and feeding her.  Brooklyn adores her and Jocelyn said "I didn't know it was a surprise pet you got us!" Us, either.

Marshmallow Face

I let her have at the beater after making marshmallows, weeks and weeks ago. But, alas, I don't think I posted her sweet face after enjoying the goo.  Trust me, she loved it.

Hair and Corn

I know they don't really go together for a post, but oh well.  We cut bangs for Cate for school-- a compromise as she wanted to cut her hair short.  Ahhh , don't even get me started on this one.  She can cut it short when she is older.  Her thick hair grows so slow, it's not a smart idea.  So we compromised. Jocelyn also got her first real hair cut.  Every inch of her curly head got a trim, and then we straighten it out.  In the past when we have straightened it, it looked slightly white trashy.  Now with a good cut, it looks much better.  She loved her hair straight.  She was so cute about it. And the corn is ON!  We have had our fair share and I managed to get a bunch frozen for the winter months!
